Event Navigation

Communication through speech is practically synonymous with being human, and yet we often find ourselves wishing we could use words more effectively to create connection and ease in our lives, especially with those closest to us.
This eight-session course led by Judith Hanson Lasater, facilitated by Elena Brower, introduces the principles of Nonviolent Communication (NVC) as a practical way of exploring one of the most important questions of our time:
HOW CAN WE EXPRESS OURSELVES IN A WAY THAT BRINGS US CLOSER TO OTHERS – ESPECIALLY WHEN WE DON’T AGREE?
Begin with the basic concepts of NVC with Judith Hanson Lasater, one of the key voices for this practice. Over the course of 8 sessions, you’ll have the opportunity to share real conversations and scenarios from your experience in order to practice new ways of communicating.
If you serve or teach others, we’ll also touch upon how to use language in our work and our home contexts. More importantly, we’ll practice how to hear the needs of others, and how to express our own needs in all our interactions by using skillfulness and radical presence.
