I am not that 4-year old with a patch over her eye that feels scorned and ridiculed.
I am not that 5-year old who has trouble using the loo in her kindergarten class.
I am not that 6-year old who doesn’t read fast enough for her teacher.
I am not that 7-year old who doesn’t have many friends and feels so lonely.
I am not that 8-year old who’s trying too hard to seem cool.
I am not that 9-year old who gets in trouble for talking in class.
I am not that 15-year old who blatantly lies and disrespects her teachers and parents.
I am not that 17-year old who tries to get attention and control her life by eating almost nothing.
I am not that 20-year old who sacrifices her health for her grades.
I am not that 25-year old who gives her body away to feel loved.
I am not that 35-year old who is scared to have a child.
I am not that 43-year old who doubts herself and mistreats herself and tries too hard to prove herself.
I AM THE PRAYER. I AM THE ONE WHO PRAYS. I AM THE ONE WHO ANSWERS.
